Health Info  Nutrient Glossary  Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)

It is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that belongs to the family of omega 3 fatty acids. Our bodies cannot synthesize DHA, so it is necessary to get it from our diets. One of the best dietary sources is deep sea fish, such as salmon, tuna and sardine. As one of the major cellular components of brain and retina, DHA is vital for the development of brain and eyes. In addition, DHA can produce PGE3, which can promote blood circulation, boost immunity, and may assist in stabilizing blood lipid level.
