What are the reasons for joint discomforts?

Most of our daily activities require joint action. Cartilage absorbs shock when pressure is placed on a joint. If there is not enough cartilage in between the bones, they will rub against each other, causing the degradation of cartilage, loss of synovial fluid and bone pain. Knee joints are the most susceptible to degradation because they are the largest joints in the body and the major load-bearing joints used when standing. Knee joints degradation is very common. Strenuous exercises should be avoided to protect the joint from further damage. Gentle and appropriate exercises such as slow walk, bicycle ride and lying down with legs raised can promote joint health.
